A Quick Start Guide to AIR Language: Language Learning for all Students

Updated: Oct 23

Welcome to AIR Language, your ultimate partner in enhancing language skills for English learners! Whether you’re a seasoned teacher or new to the platform, this quick start guide will help you get up and running in no time.

Step 1: Sign Up and Log In

First, visit AIRLanguage.io and sign up for an account. If your school has already provided you with login credentials, simply log in using those details. Once you’re in, you’ll be greeted with our user-friendly dashboard.

The teacher dashboard provides teachers with a simple interface, with easy to access features.

Step 2: Set Up Your Classroom and Push out Progress Checks

Navigate to the "Classrooms" tab and click "New Class." Then, add your students to the classroom. You can manually enter their details here. The system will then send out emails to each of your students. They will be directed to sign on to their accounts by clicking on the email.

Some school districts elect to use ClassLink. Sign on to ClassLink via the credentials supplied to you by ClassLink in the upper right corner of the page.

Then push out progress checks. Do this by clicking on a class, checking the box next to "name" on the left, then on "actions" in the upper right corner, and selecting Progress Check. Each of your students will then have the ability to take a progress check. When this is completed, they will be given access to books at their levels.

Switch between students on our class roster section.

Step 3: Explore the Curriculum and Monitor Progress

Go to the "Books" section to explore our library. You may toggle between levels of books by clicking on the dropdown on the top right corner of the screen. Our library is designed to meet diverse learning needs and includes reading materials, a reading conference portal, and assessments. Start by allowing your students to explore and familiarize themselves with the platform. Additionally, use the "Students Analytics" features to track your students' progress. While students are reading, pull students to your desk and walk them through the Amended CELL protocol, a step-by-step process of getting to know, assessing, and collaborating with students to write goals that lead to language learning for all students. You can use the "Reading Conferences" portal to help track the information you are collecting. This section provides detailed insights into their performance, helping you identify areas where they might need additional support.
