A Reading Conference, Observed: Language Learning Made Granular

Updated: Oct 11

Our system is built on a few things that are a bit outside of the norm. Reading conferences is one of them.

But why should they be?

The following are generally agreed upon by everyone:

  • Students need to read independently.

  • A relational education is best.

  • Goals are a fundamental part of success.

  • Everyone benefits from one-on-one conversation.

  • Personalized education is becoming more and more prevalent.

  • Teachers, if given the resources to personalize for every student, are the best option to personalize.

If we take all of the above and apply them to the language learning classroom, it is crystal clear that every student should be reading independently, and teachers should be meeting with them one on one, provided they have they time and resources to do so.

And this is exactly what we have created in our platform. Because when teachers use AIR Language, they utilize a conduit by which teachers connect with students and grow habits that inevitably lead independent learning.

So, check out the video. I'm sure you will see the value in your classes.
