Herbivores, Carnivores, and Omnivores

All animals have to eat.

Food gives animals energy to live. Bananas have a lot of energy.

Rabbits are herbivores. Herbivores only eat plants.

Lions are carnivores. Carnivores only eat meat.

Are bears herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores?

Bears eat berries.

Bears also eat fish. This makes them omnivores.

What are giraffes?

Giraffes are herbivores because they only eat plants.

And what are tigers?

Tigers are carnivores. They only eat meat.

What about baboons?

Baboons like fruit.

But baboons eat meat too. This makes them omnivores.

And what about her? Is she a carnivore, an herbivore, or an omnivore?

Well, she is eating a hamburger.

And a burger has meat and plants on it.

So, that makes her an omnivore.
